Butterfly Dream ATC

I had a lot of fun with this ATC.
I used lots of embossing powder and a Gelli plate print for the background.

Altered Playing Cards - Aces

My first time altering playing cards. Similar to doing ATC's but you should leave at least one corner to show that it is indeed a playing card.

Quotes and ATC's

Here I used the spin and splash alcohol ink technique for the background.
Added this fun quote and some skittles for a finished atc.

This ATC was done using a technique I saw on youtube where you put alcohol ink in water then swipe your paper through it. I then used an embossing folder for the squares.
Added the quote and other embellishments.

Alcohol Ink ATC's

These two ATC's were made using alcohol inks on glossy paper.
I have never played much with alcohol inks and found it to be kind of challenging.

I do like the end results and think I
just need to experiment with them some more.

How to Draw Really Good - ATC's

I made these two ATC's following a video on YouTube called "How to Draw Really Good" by Oliver Age 24. I found the videos really funny and have had several family members give it go as well!
He has several characters that you can pick from to draw.
Check it out HERE

I chose to draw (evil) Mario and then the Joker.

More Gelli Print Postcards

Here are a few more postcards I made using my Gelli Plate!!

The first one was done using a Tim Holtz - on the edge - Townscape die, I had cut out with acetate. It didn't come out perfect but I thought it was still kinda cool!

This next one I used stencils for the background
and then used paper cut outs from magazines to finish it off.

 Same with this one,
stencils on the Gelli Plate for background,
magazine cut outs on top with a little stamping too!

So fun!!

Gelli Print Postcards

I love my gelli plate! I made the background for these postcards with it. It's so fun and you just keep going and going and you have so much made in just a little bit of time. So fun playing. I then heat embossed some Tim Holtz stamps on top! Sent one to Russia and the other to Germany.

Postcards

Here are a couple postcards I recently made to send off as mail art. I painted the background then added several postcard themed stamps. I heat embossed the orange hot air balloon. Not liking the orange color embossing powder I used... but do like the background on that one better.

Mail Art Envelopes

My newest thing is mail art!

I signed up over at mailmesomeart.blogspot.com and received some mail art via snail mail right away.

These are what I have created to send off to those that I have already received from. They are my very first two mail art pieces I have ever made.  So much fun to do. The inspiration for these envelopes came from Renee Stein on youtube

Lots more mail art postings to come, as I already have several more envelopes and postcards in the works!
Send me an email or leave me your address in a comment if you also enjoy sending and receiving hand made mail art. We can mail to each other!

Altered containers

These started off as just plain whitish plastic containers with black handles.

They were decorated for gifts for 3 little girls each in their favorite color with their names.

Inside they will store all their pretty hair bows!

Lace, flowers, a couple strings of pearls, a strip of decorative paper and alcohol ink were used on each one.

Artist Trading Card #3

The theme for this atc swap was leaves, and the style was grunge! (my favorite)
The challenge was we could not use the color brown or any shade of brown.

I used corrugated cardboard as my background. Done lots of painting and embossing. The leaf I hand cut from paper. I painted, inked and dry embossed it. Fall is in the air is stamped and embossed. Mine was chosen as the favorite in the grunge leaves category so I did receive a little surprise from the host.
I had a lot of fun making this batch and really love how they came out.

ATC #2

I recently was in an artist trading card swap.
The theme was apple and the style was vintage.
The challenge was we couldn't use lace, ribbons, or fibers.

This is my second artist trading card I've ever made. These just may be my new thing to make, so fun!

The vintage image I found online. I printed it out on tea dyed paper. Used my Martha Stewart lace border punch (paper punched lace was allowed) for the black strips at the top and bottom. Words I printed out from computer, cut, and glued them on.

Finish my tag challenge

I was recently in a "finish my tag" challenge. She sent us all a tag she started and we were to do whatever we wanted with it.

Here is the tag she sent each of us.
The girl is not glued down so we may do whatever we want with her.

And here is my finished tag.
I think it came out really pretty!

And we get to keep the finished tag!

Bee Themed Birthday party

Here are some birthday centerpieces I made for my cousins 1st birthday party. The bees and hive are cut with silhouette machine using files purchased from the silhouette store. Used Peachy Keen stamps for their faces. The base is just baby food jars wrapped with tissue paper.

Pin the bee on the beehive game

Race to pick up all your paper bees and drop onto plate using a straw

Altered Bottle

The swap for June was to alter a bottle.
My partner asked for shabby chic, sage green, slate blue and brown.

I first covered it in book/music paper.  Added lace and cheesecloth for texture. Gessoed it. Painted the bottle with some Italian Sage folkart paint. The image I found online. I wrapped cheesecloth that I dyed brown with Lindy's Stamp Gang - Moon Shadow Mist, around the beautiful picture. On the top of the bottle I glued in a knob, covered it with the stained cheesecloth as well. I added some flower trim from Stampin Up  (Robin had sent me with my paintbrush swap, thanks Robin!) that I painted Slate Blue. Put some pearl trim around and added lace.
