To match the altered C.D in a post below. This is another name plate I done, only this time I used a Tim Holtz quote stamp " Not all who wander are lost" and the birds on a wire stamp. I stamped these on a piece of cardboard. I used burlap behind the quote, some lace on the front, and twine around on the sides. The little boy is an digital image from The Octopode Factory. Pin It

My blog makeover

As you can see, if you've visited me before, I recently had a blog makeover. I have to say thank you to Daisy from Tsunami Rose Designs. I actually won her contest (just from liking her page) for a free blog button and decided to go ahead and have the whole thing done. You can check her out on her Facebook business page! I love what she has done for me, as well as the others. (You can see examples of her work on her FB page) Her prices are very reasonable too! Check her out on fb and don't forget to add my new blog button your blog as well!! :) Pin It

Stick pins and pin cushion

Here is another pin cushion along with some stick pins I made.
As usual, I altered a black olive can to make the pin cushion.
I wrapped the can with burlap and added some twine around the edges. Easy peasy!
Stick pins were made using glass beads.

I used a piece of burlap and some lace trim. I added a stick pin, changed the color using alcohol ink.
I really like how this turned out :)

Lollipop flowers

Here are some orange and brown flowers I made from paper. I believe they are called lollipop flowers. They are just layers of circles that have been inked, sprayed with water and squished up into a ball, then unfolded and shaped. Use a brad or bling for centers.  Easy and fun to make!

Name Plate

I made Lana this name plate for her crafting desk/room using the tutorial from Creations With Christina.  Here is a link to her tutorial. I used the same technique for this as I did with the pin cushion and altered CD, so it all is a matching set. I painted it pink, added crackle, then added MS pearl paint on top. I added some cute lace, flowers, tulle, decorative stick pin, and a white feather with the flower in the bottom corner. You can't really tell in this picture but the butterfly is embossed after being stamped onto pink paper and cut out. I added the pink pearl trim around her name, which are glittery thickers.

Altered CD

This is my very first altered cd. It was made for my swap partner Lana. I have tons of CD's around and finally altered one. Now its becoming one of my favorite things to alter!

Here is how I made it - I covered it in paper and painted it pink, added crackle, then finished it with Martha Stewart Pearl Paint. The flowers are from a sizzix die. The butterfly was stamped onto pink paper and embossed in white. Added some pink bling, tulle, and a white feather. Also, lace and pearl trim around the stamped quote.

Another Pin Cushion

I love making pin cushions out of these black olive cans! They are so easy and fun to do. This one was made for my swap friend Lana. I painted it pink then added some crackle then used Martha Stewart pearl paint. I love it. I then added some pretty lace and some pink pearl trim around the edge. The butterflies are stamped on pink paper then embossed, so pretty!

The stick pins are made with pretty glass beads and I used the sizzix 3d flower die for the flowers.

Rosettes

Here are some fabric rosettes I made. I got the material from Hobby Lobby. It already had the circles you just cut them out. I used two different size blings for the centers.

Pin cushion with stick pins

I made this pin cushion out of a black olives can. It seems about the perfect size for a cushion and I seem to always have these cans on hand since I add olives to my pizza. (yum)

I'm not the greatest at getting the material just right around the ball, it seems to always leave creases.  I added feathers around the edge along with pearls and lace.

For my stick pins, I used little pink flowers from the dollar store. They look really pretty on there with some pretty glass beads from Wal-Mart.

Coasters

Coasters are easy and fun to make!
Just choose what you want on them and Mod Podge it on. I used some thick tiles from Lowes. Backed them with little self adhesive felt pads for cushioning and used Mod Podge on top, added scrapbook paper, added a couple more coats of Mod Podge on top and finished it with a water proof sealer.

3D Flowers

I made these flowers for a Valentine's Day swap.
I used the Sizzix 3D Flower die.
I love these flowers, especially the smaller ones.
You can put a little pearl in them or leave empty!
I embossed a piece of cardboard and sprayed it with homemade glimmer mist.

Grunge Valentine Card

I love the grunge look, hopefully some of you do too. This Valentine card was inspired by a tag Kim Dellow made. I love her style. The heart stamp is from Tim Holtz and the 'Be Mine' and 'Always & Forever' are stamps I won from A Jillian Vance Design, they are called A {Little} love! I layered corrugated cardboard, a piece of material and a torn piece of brown paper bag. Added lots of ink and some homemade glimmer mist to everything including the key.

Here is another Altered Notebook I made. This one was for a 10 year old girl. I mod podged the purple paper on, and then added the embellishments from K&Company, Brenda Walton. Then Mod Podged over the entire cover. Added stickles to give it a bit of sparkle. So fun to do!!
