Bird Crazy ATC's

Here are a couple of mixed media ATC's I created using Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and dies. 

The background is modeling paste through a stencil with foil and cheese cloth added. 

Bird was stamped and cut from music sheet. 

Added a diecut hat and tie, gems, quote and ribbon.

This next one has a gelli printed background. 

Again, the bird was stamped and cut from music sheet. 

Diecut hat and tie added to the bird.
Quote, ribbon and gems added along with some stars.

Mixed Media Fairy ATC

~ Pick a theme swap ~

Theme: Fairy

For this artist trading card I started with a background that was cut from a stamped masterboard I made awhile ago.  I added circles sequins then layered mesh over top. Added star sequins on top. I created my fairy using pieces from various kits from Mischief Circus. Added stickles to give sparkle. Heat embossed the edges.

Dress form ATC

I dry emobssed my background,

 inked with vintage photo distress ink. 

Added cheesecloth, 

measuring tape ribbon, 

Tim Holtz rubber stamped image,

 and button diecuts to finish.

Red Riding Hood ATC

This ATC, I created for a pick a theme swap on AFA. 

Background is gelli print on black cardstock. 

Tree was stenciled on using modeling paste.

Little Red Riding Hood is a digital stamp from The Octopode Factory.

I colored her with spectrum noir markers. 

Edges are heat embossed with red embossing powder.

This Alice ATC was created for a pick a theme swap on AFA. 

I started with a gelli print background. 

Layered book page and cheese cloth.  

Added a mushroom from Mischief Circus. 

Alice is a digi stamp from The Octopode Factory. 

I colored her in with spectrum noir markers. 

Added a printed quote from Alice in Wonderland. 

Inked edges to finish.

I used newspaper for my background. 

Stamped my image. 

Added found words. 

Purple bling and inking added to edges. 

Purple stickles were added around the words to jazz it up.

Celebrate

I created this cute little bird atc using Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps/dies.

He is wearing his bunny ears, letting us know he is ready to celebrate Easter. I stamped him onto music sheet and diecut him and the ears out. I used watercolor paint to make him yellow and used marker for his beak. I gave him a little bit of sparkle using stickles. He is layered on top of pattern scrapbook paper, book page and netting. Ribbon and stars were added for additional embellishing along with the word celebrate.

Learning Swap: Facial Expressions

I joined a learning swap over at AFA for facial expressions. We often draw our characters with the same blank expression. This swap was to learn to draw some other expressions.

Inspire Art ATC

I created this artist trading card using the prompts from my 1st challenge card a few days ago. I sent this one as an extra for the hostess of the unexpected challenge swap on Atc's for all. 

I wrote inspire art with my non dominant hand and added white paint through a stencil for the background. I went over my words with a charcoal pencil. The butterfly was my added book text. To finish, I heat embossed the edges and added a gem to the butterfly.

Unexpected Challenge - ATC #3

Here is my final ATC for the unexpected challenge swap on AFA. 

My numbers were:

#20 - Drip or splatter paint

#36 - Use the color red

#26 - Collage scrap paper

I started with plain white cardstock for my atc base. I splattered black paint, then red paint. I sketched a heart shape into the center and collaged scrap torn paper to form the heart. I heat embossed around the edge of the atc with red embossing powder, also along the torn strips of paper in the heart, giving it the look of veins. The outside of the heart was heat embossed as well. I applied a crackle medium on top. To finish the atc, I added red gems and the word inspire.

Unexpected Challenge - ATC 2

The Unexpected Challenge (an AFA swap)

My randomly chosen numbers for card 2 are:

#25 - Draw random shapes

#30 - Add a piece of fabric

#14 - Doodle around the edge of ATC

I started with a plain white atc base. I drew my random shapes in the center area of the atc. Next, I added a piece of green and blue fabric in a triangle shape to the bottom left corner. I doodled around the edge to complete my required prompts. Then I went back and colored everything in with markers. Added dots with white pen. Finally, I added words in a couple shapes to complete my card.

Unexpected Challenge - mixed media ATC

The Unexpected Challenge - (An AFA swap)

We must start with a plain base and add in the challenge technique in the exact order given.

Here are my random numbers for card 1.

#24 - Use non dominant hand to draw or write something.

#15 -  Add white paint or gesso

#7 -  Add book text

I started with a red atc base and hand wrote create art with my left hand. I then add my white paint around the words. I also added white paint through a brick stencil on the remaining background. Next, I added my book text.  I went back over my hand written words with a charcoal pencil and added crackle medium to the atc as well as red heat embossing around the edges.

Phone Book Page ATC's

I used a page from an old phone book to create these artist trading cards. I stamped my image and colored everything in with markers. I finished them by using found poetry for my saying.
